Entrepreneur, Venture Capitalist, and Explorer of Human Potential

Dave Morin is a technology entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and seeker of human potential. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Offline Ventures, a firm and studio investing at the intersection of technology and human flourishing. Offline allocates capital across two complementary engines: a traditional seed fund and a high-velocity incubation studio that launches over 100 projects per year.

Dave began his career at Apple and was an early team member at Facebook, where he co-created Facebook Platform and Connect. In 2010, he co-founded Path, the pioneering social network focused on close personal relationships. He later co-founded Slow Ventures, which achieved top-decile returns and backed iconic companies like Airtable, Ro, Solana, and Embark. Across over 800 investments, Dave’s track record spans consumer, AI, crypto, health, and deep tech, consistently outperforming benchmarks with both creativity and discipline.

In parallel to his work in technology, Dave serves as Chairman of the Esalen Institute, the legendary center for human transformation perched on the cliffs of Big Sur. There, he stewards a lineage of inquiry into consciousness, healing, and the edges of science and spirituality. His philanthropic focus lies in reducing human suffering—particularly from depression and mental illness—and empowering humanity through research, retreat, and discovery.

A lifelong Montanan, Dave is the founder of Orofino, a 15-acre retreat outside Helena designed for reconnection with nature and creative renewal. He is also the co-founder of the Sunrise Foundation, a nonprofit pioneering the science of stress resilience, co-led with neuroscientist Rebecca Brachman.

Dave lives in Mill Valley, California, with his wife Brit and their three children—Ansel, Austin, and Lumi. He is a former Junior Olympic ski racer, an Alaskan heli-skier, and an amateur philosopher who finds as much wisdom in Ecclesiastes as he does in William James or artificial intelligence. His mantra for 2025 is Strength.
